Day Zero

After a marathon day at work yesterday, I came home to Coralee packing diligently.  See how she is smiling in the picture below?  For about two weeks Coralee has been saying: "Cary, I DON'T want to do your packing at the last minute the night before... I want you to pick out your clothes and be ready on the weekend, not Monday night!"

Incredible as it sounds, I was unable to help Coralee with that request.  Instead, I came home late Monday, and threw all my clothes on the bed ready for packing!

Fortunately, the family all came to lend a helping hand.

Leasons, Peppards, and Stubbs, oh my!
Tegan should take note that Jon has more clothes at my house than he has in Australia.  How many T-shirts can one man own?  Hope your new place has an extra room for all of his gear!

Of course, the packing went exceptionally well due to Coralee's preparedness and we're ready to go.  It was nice to see Eleanor, Dawn, Chris and the kids before we head off.  Nathan and Amy stopped by too with some last minute additions to our itinerary and hugs for everyone.  They were very helpful in giving us trip and travel ideas - thanks to them we added the Darwin portion of the trip.

Merilee is disappointed that she can't come (this time!), but we're so thankful for her generosity and help throughout the planning stages of the trip.  Merilee, no big parties at the house while we're gone!  (Cary looks menacingly at Tabitha...  ;-) )

Nate and Amy are also disappointed they won't be there, but I get the feeling they are as excited for our trip as we are!

Tabitha, have fun at WORK for another week!  Ha ha!

One last pic before we head to the airport, see you on the other side!

  1. Your finally off! Note: There was no mention of parties to us hehehe. We've had a blast been part of your planning process. Remember if all else fails look for an information centre, marked by a yellow "i" on a blue sign. They'll have local maps and tips for you. Catcha later, Mate.
